Shocked, surprised, overwhelmed...a few words which might describe my feelings at hearing a shoot I had submitted to be published had been accepted.

Work started on the shoot long before the actual submission, with several ideas being put together on Pinterest and sourcing who might be interested in working with me on a shoot which had formulated in my head.  I wanted a street fashion shoot and I wanted it to be in Newcastle, my home city.

Soon after a few ideas started to come together I reached out to Harriotte Lane, current Miss Junior Teen Great Britain.  I had worked with Harriotte before at various workshops and was keen to work with her again.

The shoot it self could not have gone any better.  Despite not working with a recognised make up artist or hair stylist, Harriotte was more than up to understanding the theme I was looking to create.  Harriotte did a fantastic job with both hair and make up and these coupled with the different outfits and backdrops, it worked extremely well.

A special thanks must go to those who assisted me on the day, Mark Whitelock, Sarah Lane and my daughter Ami Davidson. Without their help and support, I would not have achieved the images I was able to capture.  Additionally I wish to give thanks to DiMarie Apparels, Jac D, My Kiki, KM Jewellery and Trufismine

Equipment used on the day, was the new Pixapro Citi600, with remote head, STIII Trigger and 90cm Softbox & Grid.

The kit performed fantastically well, allowing me to shoot manually and with high speed sync when needed.  It was important to capture some of the images with the depth of field I was looking for and shooting high speed sync was the only real option (other than using filters).

So across Newcastle we trekked, using the High Level Bridge, Grey Street, High Bridge Street and the Quayside as locations. I have achieved the editorial look I was aiming for, with bold colours, the backdrops certainly gave me plenty of variety and worked well with the outfits Harriotte had chosen for the shoot.

I am really pleased with the results of the shoot and very much hope to work with Harriotte again, she was an absolute pleasure to work with and wish her well on her destined career in the fashion industry.

If you would like to collaborate on a shoot, please do not hesitate to get in touch and thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
